Spring is here! Flower Fields in Half Moon Bay

We have had an amazing “winter”, but now on to spring, and if there is one thing you can count on is the beautiful mustard flowers in full bloom. Don't blink, because its over within a week or two. If the flower fields are something you have been waiting for as a backdrop, then now is the time.

I think the wild flowers on this coastside is such a magical time. It really shine's a light on our coastal town in being so diverse in its beauty, not only do we have the oceans, but our magical hillside's and beautiful wild flower is any artists dream.

I have known this family since their oldest child wasn't even walking yet… I love what I do as I really get to grow with families, and be able to document each stage in their lives. This was a great window into this next phase of childhood. Patience Pays Off: Half Moon Bay Beach portraits

The “C” Family has patiently awaited their day. And by that I mean they have been on my calendar to photograph their family portraits for the last two years. Everytime we either approach the day or get to the day of, either foul weather or life has come into play causing us to reschedule. Well, our day came and oh am I ever so glad we were patient!

Besides the weather being perfect, and the energy playful and sweet, the “C” boys were ready to bring this to the next level, and not just make this another signature beach portrait session, but to make it THEIR family portrait on the beach. Little things like the chemistry between the boys captured during a fun sand fight, to an airplane they brought with them to include in their images really just put the soul into their images and made it theirs.

Thank you “C” Family for not giving up on this and allowing me to capture this the way it was supposed to.

I just wanted to thank you and Shannon so very much for making us feel like we had our friends their taking the pictures! You were very patient, especially when you first got there and none of us were ready and I was still sort of stressed from trying to finish the set up across the street! But after getting ready and starting to take pictures everything just fell into place. We had a number of people comment on Wow the photographer was everywhere. And you were.

We, Marty and I had almost as much fun as the kids did! The party/dancing didn’t end till I started blowing candles out at 1:30am!
